Packing and Moving Tips for a Smoothest Move

Packing up your life and shifting down the lane or across the country doesn’t have to be devastating. Learn how to pack boxes for shifting, and you will be relaxing in your new home before you know it.

Shifting home is like driving to a very long distance through monotonous landscapes- is one of those scenarios almost everyone faces. It’s sometimes unpleasant, it’s never totally fun, but it usually leads to a positive conclusion. Of course, especially with moving, the success of the endeavor really depends on eliminating moving mistakes and planning ahead to make the transition as smooth as possible.

Prepare ahead of time

Luckily, and likely because almost everyone doesn’t end up shifting at some point, there are ample moving tips out there to make the entire transition easier. Following a shifting checklist can help you ensure everything’s in order before, during, and after the relocation; another good moving tip is to commit to having a positive attitude about the change to arrive.

Moving Tips and Tricks

Get rid of extra items: Packing all your belongings and more can be overwhelming. Make it a little simpler on your own by cutting back on clutter as much as possible. Before you pack a single carton, purge unused and unnecessary articles. You will have less to pack, less to relocate, and less to unpack- and you will begin life in your new home with a clean paper.

Creating a shifting folder:  Begin collecting new address information, rental papers, moving contacts, and more in a single folder. If any questions come up during the planning process or the move itself, you will have the answer (and records of payments, contracts, etc.)  in hand.

Pack in advance as possible: Ideally, you will know about relocation weeks or months in advance. Begin by packing off-season stuff and the items you won’t miss. If you are relocating in summer, you can pack winter outfits in advance- and likely once-in-a-while items. When it’s finally time to relocate, many things will already be ready to go, giving you less anxiety about it.

Appoint early: If you are appointing movers and packers in Bangalore, renting supplies, or hiring cleaners or painters to work on the house, book early. Waiting to do so could mean paying a higher rate, or not being able to get a truck or moving companies at all, especially if it’s a peak relocating season.

Schedule utility services at your new home: Once the dates are finalized, contact your utility service providers to schedule service at your new house. You don’t want to reach there, tired from the relocation, only to search that the electricity, and water are off. Schedule it in advance, and keep records of your requests in your shifting folder.

Keep the essentials with you separately: On the night before your relocation, truck everyday items- a change of clothes, a toothbrush, and other must-have items, medicines, etc. - into a suitcase that you.

Invest in tools and equipment: A few days before the big moving day, keep up on supplies. The last thing you wish is to have to make a run to the store while you are packing moving boxes or ensuring everything is out of the home. Purchase adhesive tapes, permanent markers, packing tape, paper towels, etc.

For major moving equipment, consider renting shifting tools from a mover. If you relocate frequently, you may be better off buying these tools. Either by buying, or renting, makes sure you have furniture pads or covers, and tie-down straps at your disposal during the relocation.

Get a moving vehicle with a loading ramp: If you are shifting on your own, you need a truck with a ramp. It may be economical to rent a moving vehicle without one, but the struggle of picking up every piece of furniture to get it into the truck will take hours- discomfort or injuries- to your relocation.

Measure: Take measurements of your new home ahead of time. This will help you easily pass your sofas through the doorway of your new home.

Unpack on the deadline: This will not be a process with instant satisfaction, but consider providing yourself a timeline. Maybe you can do 4 boxes in a day? Or two rooms be? Decide what’s best and most realistic for you.

Deal with all the packing materials: As you begin to unpack things, you are going to search yourself a lot of empty cartons and bubble wrap and whatnot. And all of it junk up your home while you are trying to set it up. Your local library will surely be interested in taking cartons off your hands. Or you can take to social media channels to see if anyone near you has a relocation coming up. There are chances, that someone will be happy to take these items out of your hands- and out of your way.
